Things were hopping at my SnB this week. In addition to our usual discussions about sex, religion, politics, and potty training we participated in a charity event. Barbara is collecting hats and scarves for a shelter for homeless teens and she brought them in to show us. A lot of people from Ravelry sent her [...]

Looking At the Brighter Side

As my friend, Gwen, reminded me in the comments below, I had a wonderful time on Saturday. I went to a fiber festival in Berkeley with Ceallach to pimp her hand dyed yarned. It was a small, local venue with lots of time to visit with other knitters and vendors. I wish I had time to [...]

Voo-doo Wrist Warmers originally uploaded by pixelpurl.
A quickie, brainless knit for a friend’s birthday. She asked for them, she got them. 2×2 ribbing on dpns with a 6-stitch buttonhole for the thumb. Plymouth Encore. This is about all I am capable of lately.

Yesterday I went to Santa Rosa with some fellow knitters to see the Yarn Harlot at a book signing. Like a dummy, I didn’t even think of taking a camera (kicking self). My rig is so big and bulky that it is difficult to be unobtrusive in public and it didn’t even occur to me [...]
A Trip To The Frog Pond

The Hatfield Sweater was in time-out for a long while because I just wasn’t in the mood to knit. Then I got a case of startitis and restrained myself by resolving to finish the Hatfield before casting on for anything else. All I had completed was the left front so I dragged it out of [...]

Obligatory Scarf, originally uploaded by pixelpurl.
This is all I have been capable of lately, a garter-stitch novelty yarn scarf. Mindless knitting I could take to Wednesday night knitting group and keep up with the chatter. It’s Trendsetter Yarn’s Dune, a melange of mohair, acrylic, viscose, nylon, and metal. It is an obligatory scarf [...]

koigu wave scarf originally uploaded by pixelpurl.
I forgot to post this. The completed Koigu wave scarf. I finished it a couple of weeks ago and have been wearing it. It is 6 feet long and drapes nicely, goes well with my new purple coat. Note the cool fringe.

koigu wave scarf, originally uploaded by pixelpurl.
It looks like a mess now but will be cool when blocked. It’s a fun pattern, easy to memorize. I’ve never made a scarf or done anything remotely lace like so I’m combining 2 firsts in 1 project. This is the project that led [...]

blue tweed raglan, originally uploaded by pixelpurl.
3/4 done and will probably hibernate for a while as I’m tired of looking at it. I think I need to frog the bottom and add a few more inches to the length. As it is I look like a tank when I try it [...]
